Did you know, there are real Zombies? Spiritual zombies. Put it simply: your body without your soul is a corpse. Your body isn’t happy without your soul. Your soul isn’t happy without God. A soul without God is a zombie.
Your body is much smaller than the universe. Your soul is much bigger. The entire universe isn’t big enough to fill your soul. Only God can do that “who has set eternity in our hearts”.
Augustine said it these ways:
“As the soul is the life of the body, so God is man’s life of happiness”.
And more famously:
Talking to God: “You have made us for yourself, and our hearts our restless until they rest in You.”
